Professor Philip Kotler

Philip Kotler is the S.C. Johnson & Son Professor of International Marketing at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He is the author of 57 books, inlcuding The Marketing of Nations. He has also advised governments on how to develop and position the skill sets and resources of their companies for global competition. 

 

Prof. Kotler will discuss the importance of improving a country’s image to improve its economy. He will propose that a country seeking to build its brand should appoint a “Minister of Marketing.”

Prof. Kotler is the recipient of many awards for his marketing scholarship. In 2013, he became the first recipient of the William L. Wilkie American Marketing Association Foundation’s “Marketing for a Better World” Award for significant contributions to marketing theory and practice. Also in 2013, he was inducted into the Management Hall of Fame.
